Complete lockdown in R’gaon from April 10-19

Rajnandgaon, Apr 08: Raipur, Apr 08: In view of the increasing corona infection in the district, now the entire lockdown has been announced in Rajnandgaon district of the state from April 10, Saturday, 12 noon to April 19, 6 am. Collector Topeshwar Verma has taken this decision after meeting with officials, public representatives and traders in the meeting held at collectorate premises. Collector TK Verma said that condition in the district too is sensitive and the number of corona positive cases are on the rise in urban areas. In line with the capital city, complete lockdown can be imposed in Rajnandgaon district as well. In other words lockdown will be effective from April 10 to 19th. During this only emergency medical services and other essential services would continue. After the urban area in the district, number of corona positive cases are on the rise in Khairagarh, Dongargarh, Chuikhadan, Ambagarh Chowki, Rajnandgaon block and Dongargaon. Though for its prevention, lockdown at various local level was done, but even after this corona cases were on the rise.
After the meeting, the collector has announced the entire lockdown in the district. This time the lockdown will be very strict. Its detailed order will be issued shortly. It is notable that with the addition of 873 new patients in the last 24 hours, the total number of total active infected people has increased to 5223. The total number of patients has increased to 26,488. While 20,857 patients have been discharged after becoming healthy. So far 208 people have died in the district. Officers informed that during this lockdown, all boundaries of Rajnandgaon district will remain sealed and during this there will be permission for medical shops and other essential services to remain open during fixed hours. They informed that during the lockdown, the petrol pump owners will be permitted to sell petrol only in government vehicles being used in government works and those related to essential services. Officers informed that from morning 6:30 am to 8:00 am the milk vendors and paper distributors will be allowed to distribute milk and paper. The delivery of LPG cylinders will be done only through online booking or through telephone and would deliver cylinders at home.
The officers informed that in the industrial units and construction sites, the institution by keeping labourers within the premises will be allowed to function and permission will be granted for industrial and construction work.
