Collector inspects check-post in Bakawand

Jagdalpur, Dec 24: To put a check on illegal transportation of paddy from neighbouring states of Odisha, the local district administration is closely monitoring at the check-posts. In the action taken from Nov 17 to Dec 18 by inspection team of Revenue department in border areas of Bakawand tehsil, a total of 26 quintals of illegal paddy was seized.
Collector Rajat Bansal reached Bakawand check-post and inspected the checking of vehicles by those posted there and also the inspection register. So as per instructions from Collector, the team of officials from Revenue and Food department is taking regular action against illegal transportation of paddy from neighbouring states. As per instructions from Collector Rajat Bansal, SDM Bastar informed that secret informers have been posted in villages to give information about illegal transportation and selling of paddy from neighbouring states in the villages. So far the Revenue team has taken action successfully against the transporters based upon tips from these informers. The squad of revenue is seizing the paddy illegally transported and by preparing ‘panchnama’ the vehicle is handed over to its owner. Along with this the Mandi secretary has been asked to file case under Mandi Act against the concerned person.
The revenue team so far has seized illegal paddy being transported from Karitgaon, Baniyagaon, Mokhagaon, Udiyal and Ulanar, Rajnagar, Naveel Mohlai. Collector also inspected the library and other development works being caried out by Nagar Panchayat in Bastar headquarters. The RES arrival late was asked for clarification.
