Collector for monitoring use of ground water by industries

: For the prevention of arbitrary use of ground water by the industries, the district level Ground Water Coordination Committee is constantly inspecting the industries.
On Friday the committee reached three industries namely, Aparna Carbon Ltd in Jevra Sirsa, Tankeshwari Metal Powder Product Pvt Ltd in Village Aheri and JK Lakshmi Cement Jamul. The investigation team examined the documents related to the approval from Central Ground Water Board, contract document with Water Resources Department, water meter installed and attempt being made by the industries at recycling of water and various other points. After thorough examination of the documents and review of facts, report prepared would be handed over to the District Collector Ankit Anand.
BG Tiwari, Executive Engineer, Water Resources Department, Tandula Division informed that the District Level Groundwater Coordination Committee has as members SDM of Dhamdha and officers from Environmental Pollution Board and Public Health Engineering Department.
The team so constituted jointly visited the three aforesaid industries, conducted a thorough investigation of various technical aspects. In the past also such coordination committee had conducted inspection and on the basis of the report submitted, the Collector after assessment of the review report had issued orders to seal the bores and take other action according to the provision. He informed that the committee will continue to inspect the industries further and if found irregularity in this regard, strict action would be taken.
