Collector directs for strict compliance of water conservation Act

The meeting of time-limit committee was held under chairmanship of Collector Jaiprakash Mourya here on May 7 and in this discussions were held on the drinking water crisis. Collector directed the officers to ensure strict compliance of orders issued five days back related to Water Conservation Act. He said that on violation of the same, strict action will be taken. Further in teh meeting discussions were also held on sanitation system, saving water and electricity, plantation, ground-water conservation; preparations for next academic session; repair works and measures being taken in Gram and Jila Panchayat facing water crisis. CEO District Panchayat Tanuja Salam, Dy. District Returning Officer Omkar Yadu, Municipal Commissioner RMC Chandrakant Kaushik, Upper Collector SN Motwami, Joint Collector MD Tigala, and other district-level officers, SDM and civil body officers were present.
Directs for strict compliance of Water Conservation Act:
Collector Mourya directed the officers present to ensure strict compliance of Water Conservation Act and added that those violating the act should be issued notice and then strict action be taken.
No water for paddy crop in ‘Rabi Season’
Reviewing the drinking water condition in the district, the Collector informed that no water supply will be made for paddy crop for coming ‘Rabi’ season. Mourya directed the officers to prepare list of the farmers who have been given pump connection through private borewells and send the list in 15 days. Mourya said that the farmers be issued instructions and made it clear that no water or electricity will be released for paddy crop in Rabi season. But if the farmers wants to do farming of cash crops then they will have to take permission from SDO (Revenue).
Ban on use of polythene bags; action also to be taken
Mourya further directed the officers present to put a ban on use of polythene in urban bodies and said that SC has imposed ban on use of polythene bags and it is by launching campaign in civic areas, action be taken against those who are using polythene and while taking action, the duty of City Magistrate and police force be taken.
Directs to hold talks with reps of business organisations
Collector Mourya directed the officers present to hold talks with the business organisation and hand-cart operators in the city on regular basis. In the meeting they were asked to warn all traders/ road-side vendors and hand-cart operators not to use polythene bags and asked them to keep dustbins near the handcarts. Mourya also directed to draw a white line near the hand-carts by the road-side and warn them of action taken if they violate this white line.
