Coke Oven employees aggrieved over negligence of safety issues

A delegation of Bhilai Ispat Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) on Saturday conducted visit at Coke Ovens. They interacted with the workmen to discover their problems. Union General Secretary Dinesh Kumar Pandey informed that most of the employees were aggrieved with the negligence over safety issues. They informed that the management never provides the gloves and safety boots in time. The disastrous fire mishap at Naphthalene Factory on May 24 was the outcome of such negligence.
The union leaders interacted with the employees at the Canteen during which the employees expressed resentment over the May 24 mishap. They stated that the plant suffered loss of crores but any action was not taken against the responsible officers. It needs to be mentioned here that BMS had demanded immediate suspension of GM Cove Ovens after the mishap but the management did not take any action. The employees assured complete support if the union stages demonstration for the same. Dinesh Pandey stated that if the management fails in taking action against GM of Coke Ovens and other responsible persons, they will stage aggressive demonstration. The employees expressed resentment over the representative trade union also.
Over the issue of May 24 mishap, the union has organized an open meeting on June 02 at union office. Future course of action of struggle will be chalked out during this meeting. Dinesh Kumar Pandey, Devgiri Goswami, Dr Som Bharti, Anil Jain, Ramji, Nirmal Mishra, Ashok Mahwar and others were present.
