CM performs bhoomipujan for development works worth Rs 285 crore

On Tuesday, inauguration / bhoomipujan of development works worth Rs 285.87 crore were performed in Durg District. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and his cabinet ministers virtually attended the programme held at BIT auditorium. These projects included basic works like education, health and drinking water. These projects of infrastructure development and social development will usher in a new era of civic amenities in Durg district. Bhoomipujan was performed for 30 projects worth Rs 261.09 crore. Further, 27 projects worth Rs 24.78 crore were inaugurated. On this occasion, the benefits of different schemes of various departments were also provided to the beneficiaries.
In his address, Chief Minister said that the Durg District Administration has done a good job for Covid control. The recovery rate of Covid patients has increased rapidly in the state. Women Self-Help Groups are working appreciably in the villages and are not only becoming financially empowered but are also empowering the rural economy. Rapid development works are being done in Durg district. The development will gain momentum with the inaugurations and bhoomipujans of various projects.
Guardian Minister of the District, Mohammad Akbar also said that rapid development works are also being done in Durg district through DMF to fulfil the expectations of the common people. PWD Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu said that Durg district has done a good job in controlling COVID and it has been praised across the country. Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Durg District is witnessing remarkable development and positive changes are visible in all the areas. Public Health Engineering Minister Guru Rudra Kumar said that basic amenities are being provided to the people and multifarious activities are being done at a fast pace to elevate the economy. Durg MLA Arun Vora said that the Chief Minister has brought development in all areas for Durg district, due to which major changes are visible in the sphere of infrastructure and economy. Bhilai MLA Devendra Yadav said that the Nandini-Ahiwara road was in very bad shape. Chief Minister has taken an important decision in this regard and it will bring great convenience to the citizens. District Panchayat President Shalini Yadav, Durg Mayor Dheeraj Bakliwal, Bhilai Charoda Mayor Chandrakanta Mandle, District Panchayat Vice President Ashok Sahu and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure presented a report on the development projects. A short film on development works of Durg district was also screened. IG Vivekanand Sinha, CCF Shalini Raina, SP Prashant Thakur, DFO Dhammasheel Ganvir, District Panchayat CEO Sacchidanand Alok and other top officers were present.
Road network to be improved: The most important project includes bhoomipujan for widening and upgradation of road from Anda to Minimata Chowk at a cost of Rs 100 crores. On completion of this project, traffic movement on this route will be very easy. Jamul to Nandini-Ahiwara road will also be constructed (21 km) at a cost of Rs 78 crore. The demand for this road was being made by the citizens for a long time and the road had become quite dilapidated. Bhoomipujan of Nankatti-Daniya-Bori-Purda-Litiya road at a cost of Rs 12 crore and Bhoomipujan of road between Ekta Nagar Muktidham to Engineering Park at a cost of Rs 11 crore was also done.
Jal Jeevan Mission: Pipeline network expansion work will be done under Jal Jeevan Mission in rural areas for supplying pure drinking water to households. Various projects worth Rs 12.49 crore were inaugurated and bhoomipujan was performed.
Infrastructure development in Health Department and AYUSH: Under the Health Department, works worth Rs 2.16 crore are being done for infrastructure development and construction of staff quarters. Three new dispensary buildings constructed at a cost of Rs 47 lakh were inaugurated at Dundera, Bhilai-3 and Butrel.
Education Sector: 50-seat Post Matric Tribal Girls Hostel was inaugurated in Durg. In Bhilai, bhoomipujan of Post Matric Scheduled Caste Boys Hostel, Girls Hostel and Backward Class Boys and Girls Hostel was done. These projects will be competed with expenditure of Ts 9 crores. High schools built at a cost of Rs 68 lakh were also inaugurated at Patharia and Raunda.
Infrastructure development in Bhilai-Charoda: Works worth Rs 5.60 crore will be conducted in the limits of Bhilai Charoda Municipal Corporation. This includes the work of widening the road from GE Road to Shriram City Padum Nagar. Other projects are construction of mini stadium in World Bank Colony, construction of shelter at Hathkhoj Transport Nagar and community building at Umda.
Electricity Sector: Bhoomipujan was also performed for the works worth Rs 51 lakhs of the Electricity Company. These projects include 132/33 KV at Amleshwar worth Rs36 lakh; additional transformer installation at Patan sub-station, work of feeder bay in Patan; installation of additional transformer at Pulgaon and 33/11 sub-station at Khamharia.
Distribution of benefits: Distribution of benefits under various government schemes was also conducted. Rs 20000 were given to Sindhuja group for cultivation of brinjal and Rs 16000 for mulching. Under the schemes of labor department, assistance amount of Rs 2 lakhs was also distributed.
