CM pays tribute to former PM Indira Gandhi on her birth anniv

Raipur, Nov 20: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel paid floral tributes to the country’s first and only woman Prime Minister, Late Mrs. Indira Gandhi, on the occasion of her birth anniversary, at his residence office. Recalling the personality and work of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, he said that Indira Ji took India to new heights on the international stage with her efficient leadership, foresight, firm intentions and sharp intelligence. She made lifelong efforts for the upliftment of the poor and weaker sections of the society and laid down her life to protect the unity and integrity of the country. The birthday of Mrs. Indira Gandhi is celebrated as ‘Quami Ekta’. Chief Minister Baghel said that she achieved many achievements in her life. In which the rise of Bangladesh, India’s becoming a nuclear-powered nation were the major achievements. The success of her Green Revolution program made the country self-sufficient in food production. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Indira Ji was the first and only woman Prime Minister of the country till date. The Chief Minister said that Indira’s work and her values will continue to inspire all of us to serve the country.
On this occasion, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Housing Board, Mr. Kuldeep Juneja, MLA Dr. KK Dhruv, Raipur Municipal Corporation, Mayor Mr. Ejaz Dhebar, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Minorities Commission Mr. Mahendra Chhabra and Chairman of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Mr. Atal Srivastava were also present.
