Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday dedicated various works constructed at a cost of Rs 28 lakh at Press Club, Raipur. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also felicitated senior journalists of Raipur. In a program organised by the Press Club, the Chief Minister, while addressing the members, said that his relationship with journalists is from his college days.
We know that the journalists work in the adverse circumstances. In the present scenario it is important to work with latest techniques and facilities. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that he is happy that one of the oldest press club in the country, late Madhukar Kher Memorial Press Club, Raipur has now modern facilities available. He said that working with responsibilities and excessive work pressure, journalists bring problems of society to the government. Today, due to the speed of news dispatch and the changing nature of the media, the pressure on journalism has increased more than ever before. The Chief Minister said that the state government’s thinking and intent is that journalists should get good facilities from the point of view of their working. If there is a demand in relation to giving more facilities at Press Club or enhancing the functionality of the media, then efforts will be made to complete it.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister dedicated the grand welcome gate made at the late Madhukar Kher Smruti Bhawan constructed at a cost of Rs 28 lakh at Raipur Press Club, Motibagh. He also dedicated the beautification of fountains, table tennis room, photo journalist room and new facilities in Central Hall.
Prior to addressing the members of Press Club, the Chief Minister felicitated senior journalist Jaishankar Prasad Sharma ‘Neerav’, Suhas Rajimwale, Sheshkaran Jain, M.A. Joseph, Asif Iqbal, Shankar Pandey and Kaushal Kishore Mishra. Addressing the program, Brij Mohan Agarwal said that Raipur Press Club is one of the well-known press clubs of the country. It is commendable that senior journalists are felicitated here.
Press Club President Damu Ambedare briefed about the new facilities being made available at the Press Club and said that such efforts would continue in the future. He said that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has fulfilled the demand of providing houses to the journalists. Soon the houses will be allocated. He also handed over a memorandum regarding the demands of journalists. On the occasion School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tikam, Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Deharia, MLA and former minister Brij Mohan Agarwal, MLA Vinod Chandrakar Mayor Pramod Dubey was present. Press Club General Secretary Prashant Dubey, Vice President Prafull Thakur, Treasurer Shagupta Shereen, Joint Secretary Ankita Sharma and Gaurav Sharma welcomed the guests. In the beginning of the program, the Chief Minister inaugurated the progrmme by lightening the traditional lamp.
