Civic polls: 80441 voters of Birgaon to exercise their franchise

Raipur, Dec 18: As many as 81532 voters will exercise their franchise in 95 centers of Birgaon Municipal Corporation and 2 centers of Gobra Nawapara Municipal Council in civic body polls on December 20. A total of 80441 voters including 36799 women and 43627 men and 15 others will exercise their franchise in election in 40 wards of Birgaon Municipal Corporation. In addition to this 546 women and 545 men will exercise their franchise for the by-election of ward number 14 Radhakrishna ward of Gobra Navapara Municipal Councuil. The polling will be held between 8 am and 5 pm.

For not being present for submitted account and expenditure details

Raipur: Observers have been appointed by the Chhattisgarh State Election Commission to keep an eye on election expenditure of the candidates in fray for urban body poll. All the candidates will have to appear at least two times for checking of account and expenditure. Notice has been issued to candidates of Nagar Palika Nigam Birgaon and Bhilai and to Nagar Palika Parishad Sarnagarh and Baikunthpur and Khairagarh.
It is notable here that the observer has called the candidates for the second time for checking of their account and expenditure made and in this from Birgaon Nagar Palika Nigam 186 candidates were called and out of which 176 were present; from Bhilai Nagar Nigam 310 were present out of 318; 53 out of 56 from Nagar Palika Parishad Khairagarh; 39 out of 41 from Sarangarh and 69 out of 70 from Baikunthpur. The 24 candidates found absent for second round of accounts checking have been issued notices.
