Raipur, Oct 10: The Chief Electoral Officer, Mrs Reena Baba Saheb Kangale reviewed the preparations for the Assembly by-election at a meeting held in the Collectorate Hall of the Gorella-Pendra-Marwahi district on Friday. She asked all the officers to work in team spirit and play their role in fair, free and peaceful elections. She instructed all officers to discharge their responsibilities with mutual coordination. During this, she directed to ensure availability of basic facilities like shadow, drinking water etc. in all polling stations of Marwahi assembly constituency. Mrs Reena directed to take strict action in the event of property diversion at public and government sites. She directed to ensure strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct along with keeping a close watch on the illegal transport of liquor. The Chief Electoral Officer directed Superintendent of Police, Mr. Suraj Singh Parihar, to ensure the security of the polling stations. Superintendent of Police, Mr Parihar informed that elaborate security arrangements are being made by the police force for the assembly by-election. At the meeting, District Election Officer Mr. Doman Singh gave detailed information to the Chief Electoral Officer about the preparations for the Assembly by-election. The Chief Electoral Officer directed Superintendent of Police, Mr. Suraj Singh Parihar, to ensure the security of the polling stations. Superintendent of Police Parihar informed that elaborate security arrangements are being made by the police force for the assembly by-election. In the meeting, District Election Officer Mr. Doman Singh gave detailed information to the Chief Electoral Officer about the preparations for the Assembly by-election. He took information about polling station arrangements, distribution of polling materials, arrangements for depositing material, arrangements made for the convenience of voters in polling stations according to the guidelines given by Election Commission of India for protection from Kovid, voter public awareness programs under sveep The officials were given necessary guidelines. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Electoral Officers U.S Agrawal, Shrikant Verma, Pulak Bhattacharya, Gorella Pendra Marwahi District Additional Collector Ajit Basant, Assistant Collector Mayank Chaturvedi, District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Gajendra Thakur, Additional SP Sanjay Mahadeva, Upazila Election Officer Digesh Patel and other officials were present.
