Raipur: Chhattisgarh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights on Friday organised a day long awareness workshop for police officers in the field of Child Rights Protection.
Titled as ‘Aawahan’, the workshop was organised at Commission’s office situated at Civil Lines. Large number of police officers associated with Child Rights Protection, officers of Juvenile Justice Department and the officers of Traffic police department participated in the workshop.
In her presidential address to the gathered officers, Commission’s Chairperson Prabha Dubey said that police and other officials dealing with cases related to children should handle the cases with extreme sensibility and patience as children are basically very tender in mind and heart.
They are not basically criminals but actually take up crime due to the existing circumstances or ignorance. As such, they should be dealt with extreme caution while investigating any crime.
The Commission later felicitated Azad Chowk CSP Nasar Siddiqui, DSP Kavita Thakur and DSP (probationary) Kalpana Verma for their commendable work in the field of Child Rights Protection.
