Bilaspur district receives National Award

Raipur, Feb 25:
Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh has secured the top rank in the country for implementation of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Tomar awarded Bilaspur district for this glorious achievement, in a programme organized in New Delhi today, on the occasion of completion of two years of this scheme. Collector of Bilaspur Dr. Saransh Mittar and State Nodal Officer of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana GK Nirmam received this award. Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Chaudhary was also present at the award ceremony.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey have congratulated the farmers and Bilaspur district administration for this achievement. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that State Government is dedicatedly working for welfare of farmers. Our top priority is to enrich agriculture sector and farmers of the state. This award conferred upon at national-level symbolizes that Chhattisgarh state is becoming a role model for the country in the field of farmer welfare.
On completion of two years of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India has awarded the best performing states and districts in the country. Bilaspur is the best performing district in the country in terms of Aadhaar authentication and benefitting the farmers under the scheme. In Bilaspur district, 9310 farmers have been benefitted under the scheme through Aadhaar authentication.
It is noteworthy that Bilaspur district has also received national recognition for water conservation. In the year 2019, Bilaspur district was awarded the National Water Award for the conservation and restoration of rivers.
