Chhattisgarh bags top honours in ‘Swachh’ States: President Ramnath Kovind hands over award to Minister Shiv Deharia

Raipur: Chhattisgarh topped the list of ”Swachh States’ in the entire country. The State bagged the honours for the ‘Swachhta Sarveshan-2019’ rankings in New Delhi today. President Mr. Ramnath Kovind gave away the award to Chhattisgarh State Urban Administration and Development Minister Mr. Shiv Deharaia. The survey also declared Ambikapur as the second best place (Swachhta) in the entire country and Bhilai Nagar 11th Spot.

Minister Mr. Shiv Deharia said that it is a proud moment for the entire State. He added that this time around the State had performed remarkably well and the State will strive to do well in the coming years as well. The Minister said that 28 towns of Chhattisgarh had figured in various categories of the ‘Swachhta Sarveshan-2019′ rankings which is itself a tribute to the efforts of the State administration. Bhilai Mayor and MLA Mr. Devendra Yadav and Urban Administration Department Special Secretary Miss. Alarmelmangai D and other senior officers were also present. Ambikapur bagged the 15th spot in the year 2017 and 11th ranking in the year 2018. Raipur bagged the award in the above 10 lakh population category towns in fastest developing cities’ ‘Swachh’ category.
