‘Ch’garh, Odisha to discuss action plan to prevent ganja smuggling’

Raipur, Oct 17: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has directed to convene a high level joint meeting of the police officers of Odisha and Chhattisgarh to discuss measures for prevention of ganja smuggling from Odisha. He asked to chalk out a concrete action plan to check ganja smuggling and install CCTV cameras at border check posts apart from deployment of police force for round-the-clock surveillance.
The Chief Minister instructed the Director General of Police and Special Director General of Police Naxal Operations to take necessary action in this regard. Baghel asked the Collector and the Superintendent of Police to make available permanent infrastructure and check posts in all the areas bordering Odisha. Apart from the arrangement of CCTV cameras in these places, police force should be deployed for surveillance.
Baghel has the Director General of Police and Special Director General of Police Naxal Operation to immediately take initiative in this direction and ensure necessary coordination. The high level meeting of police officers of Chhattisgarh and Odisha will be attended by Director General of Police and Inspector General of Police Intelligence of Chhattisgarh as well as Superintendent of Police of Border Districts and senior officers of Odisha Police.
