Ch’garh is a peaceful state, maintaining law and order is our top priority: CM

Raipur, Oct 21: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today chaired the Collectors’ conference held in the auditorium of New Circuit House today. Chief Minister, in his address to the conference, directed the District Collectors to focus on the basic administration at grass-root level. District administration is responsible for implementing the ministry-level decision on the ground. Baghel added that the performance of district administrations will not be reviewed based on the data, rather it would be evaluated based on the direct benefits received by the citizens under various schemes.
In the conference, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Director General of Police Mr. DM Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Department Mrs. Renu G. Pillay, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Subrat Sahu along with Principal Secretary, Secretaries of various departments, commissioners, collectors of districts and senior officers were also present.
Addressing the administrative officials, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the works of revenue administration are directly related to farmers and common people, hence it should be considered as the top priority. He added that the district administrations have performed remarkably well during the pandemic. Today, Chhattisgarh’s model of development and governance is being discussed across the country, while the innovative projects of Chhattisgarh are being appreciated.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the District Magistrate is responsible for the law and order in the district. District Magistrate has to act as a team leader. Besides ensuring continuous monitoring of law and order, it is necessary to sternly refute the rumors and propaganda through social media. Before the weekly review meeting, District Magistrate should review the law and order situation with the Superintendent of Police, Executive Magistrates. In this meeting, the situation of last week should be reviewed, and the strategy for the law and order situations in the coming week should be made. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the law and order situation can be improved only with the alertness of the administration. In the era of communication revolution, any incident in place affects the entire state and the country, so we have a huge responsibility to curb the propaganda. Chhattisgarh is the state of peace, and maintaining law and order is our priority. Proper supervision on social media is necessary. Information is power, hence the information system of the district administration needs to be strengthened. Disprove false facts, don’t let rumours spread, directed Chief Minister. He added “I am not averse to protests but the planned conspiracy to disturb the atmosphere should not be allowed to succeed. Develop district intelligence system. Peace and harmony should be maintained at all times at all costs. Communal harmony is the identity of Chhattisgarhi culture, no person or organization will be allowed to disturb it”.
