Ch’garh 2nd in NQAS implementation in health institutions

Raipur, Sep 17: Chhattisgarh has bagged second prize in whole country in the implementation of National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) in health institutes of the state during the period between 2018-19 and 2020-21. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandavia presented award to Chhattisgarh in the virtual programme organized by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi on the occasion of Patient Safety Week. Chhattisgarh successfully implemented NQAS in the categories of District Hospitals and Community Health Centers.
Process of internal and state level assessment, service supply audit and patient satisfaction survey are conducted in the hospitals of Chhattisgarh under National Health Mission after regular training of health workers with a view to make available excellent health services in state hospitals and provide better treatment to patients. Selected hospitals of Chhattisgarh are evaluated on the basis of parameters like OPD, IPD, Laboratory, Delivery Room, Emergency Service, Radiology, Pharmacy & Store, General Admin, Operation Theater and NBSU by the team of experts from Government of India.
Quality certificate is issued by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare only to the hospitals that qualify the assessment. As many as 28 hospitals and health centers in Chhattisgarh, including 7 district hospitals, 7 community health centers, 13 primary health centers and one urban primary health center, were given quality certificates for providing quality health services under National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) program, from the year 2018-19 to the year 2020-21.
Extending congratulations to the hospitals on this achievement Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Health Minister TS Singhdeo hoped that they will continue to serve the patients while maintaining their excellence. Principal Secretary, Health Department, Dr Alok Shukla, Commissioner Health Services Dr CR Prasanna and Director Health Services Mr Neeraj Bansod have also congratulated the state level team and the officers and employees of all district level health institutions. Director of National Health Mission, Chhattisgarh Dr Priyanka Shukla said 16 government hospitals and health centers of the state were given quality certificates by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in the year 2020-21, even during the crisis of COVID pandemic.
