Chandni wins hearts of viewers

M odel turned actress Chandni Sharma is the new IT girl of Indian Television. With looks that can kill, she has already won the hearts of viewers with her endearing performance as Akanksha in Sony Entertainment Television’s new show ‘Kaamnaa: Jahan Hoga Khwahisho Aur Usuloo Ka Aamnaa Saamnaa’. It’s hard to explain, but something about Chandni simply ‘clicks’ and one can relate to her character of Akanksha effortlessly. Talking about her character Akanksha, Chandni Sharma shared that she doesn’t feel like she’s ‘acting’ when she portrays this character. “We are so similar that it does not feel like I am playing a character, it actually does not even feel like I am acting. A lot of the credit also goes to the way Akanksha has been envisioned by the writers. Akanksha and I are both from smaller cities and ambitious women who want to do something big with their lives. We’ve both been brought up with strong middle-class values – but both of us aspire to do a lot more. I for one, would have continued to stay back in my home town, pursue studies and settle down like my parents wanted to. But I wanted to experience a better life and hence moved to Mumbai to pursue the career of my dreams and enjoy the perks that come with it. Similar is the case with Akanksha too. While she has a great family, a doting husband and a child, she desires the best for all of them. More on the lines of pair lambe karke to dekho, chadar apne aap lambi ho jayegi.
