Center of Excellence Tele-medicine Hub inaugurated at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital

Covid and non-Covid patients will be treated through tele-medicine, services will be provided by experts

Raipur, Jul 02: “Center of Excellence Tele-Medicine Hub” has been established in Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital to provide treatment-related counselling through video conferencing and telemedicine to all specialized Covid hospitals and non-Covid hospitals in the state. Health Minister T.S. Singhdeo inaugurated this first “Center of Excellence Telemedicine Hub” of the state through video conferencing. Through this state tele-consultation hub set up by the Department of Health and Family Welfare and the National Health Mission, all the hospitals, health and wellness centers in the state will be connected to each other through the internet and seek medical consultations related to the treatment of patients online.
During the inauguration of the center, Additional Chief Secretary of Medical Education Department, Mrs. Renu Pillai, Secretary of Health Department, Mrs. Niharika Barik Singh, Director of National Health Mission, Dr. Priyanka Shukla and Director, Medical Education Dr. S.L. Adile was also present.
Inaugurating the Center of Excellence Tele-Medicine Hub, Health Minister Mr. Singhdeo said that this telemedicine service will prove to be a milestone in the direction of providing better healthcare facilities to patients.
This facility will be very useful for medical consultation with experts in any kind of emergency situations in Covid Care Hospital and Health and Wellness Centers located in remote areas of the state. While congratulating all the Doctors on the occasion of Doctor’s Day, he said that the way the dedication of Doctors is being seen to deal with the Covid epidemic is very commendable. With the launch of this telemedicine service of the state government, another new technology has been added in the fight against Covid, which will benefit the people of the state more and more. Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Medical Education, Mrs. Renu Pillai discussed with Dr. RK Panda, Covid-19 Nodal Officer of Ambedkar Hospital and Critical Care Specialist Dr OP Sundarani regarding the standard operating procedure of providing medical facility to patients through telecommunication. He also interacted with doctors from Ambikapur, Jashpur, Jagdalpur and Durg through video conferencing.
At the inauguration of the “Center of Excellence Telemedicine Hub”, Dr. Vishnu Dutt, the Founder of the Medical College, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr. Vineet Jain, Additional Director of Medical Education Dr. Nirmal Verma, Nodal Officer, Urban Health Program Dr. Kamlesh Jain, ACI HOD Dr. Smit Srivastava, Covid Hospital Incharge, Dr. Shipra Sharma, Dr. Yogendra Malhotra, Dr. Sandeep Chandrakar and Dr. Altaf Yusuf Mir were also present.
