Cash, ornaments worth Rs 2.50 lakh stolen

Raipur: Unidentified burglars broke into a locked house in Heerapur’s Avinash Pride housing society on Sunday sometime between 12:00 noon and 5:00 p.m. while complainant was away with his family to a mall for seeing a movie and doing some shopping.

The burglary came to light when they returned from the mall. The incident was then reported in Kabir Nagar police station following which police have launched an investigation into the incident.

According to police, complainant Vishal Agrawal of house no. 405, Block-F, in Avinash Pride Housing Society was out of his house along with his family between 12:00 noon and 5:00 p.m. Returning back, they found that the main door’s lock was broken and missing.

Further moving into the house, they found everything inside was ransacked completely and the almirah was lying open from where the burglars had taken away cash Rs 1.50 lakh and all the gold and silver ornaments kept in it. Kabir Nagar police, in the meantime, have registered an offence under Section 454, 380 IPC against unidentified burglars and is now investigating the matter further.
