BSP summer sports training camp-2019 concludes

Bhilai, Jun 12: Bhilai Steel Plant, Sports, Culture and Civic Amenities Department organised summer vacation sports training camp 2019 from May 11 to June 12 as every year. The camp concluded at the Basketball ground of Pant Stadium, Sector-01 on Wednesday in the presence of Chief Guest KK Singh, ED (P&A). PK Ghosh, GM (Town Services) and SK Sahu, DGM I/c (Personnel) were present as special guests. About 121 expert trainers coached around 2165 students in 22 sports during the camp at different sports grounds, halls and in schools etc of city with a view to develop mental alertness and physical competence of participating players. Selected players from such camp are then provided training of techniques and different aspects of the respective sports throughout the year by expert players and NIS Coaches.
Addressing the ceremony, Singh appreciated the sports department for organizing the summer sports camp for the last 43 years. During this time a lot has been done to promote sports as a result of which the city offers an upbeat atmosphere for sports. It has provided opportunity to talented students in various sports and games. He reiterated that BSP has been contributing a lot in encouraging sports and would continue to do so in future as well.
The chief guest then distributed certificates of participation to the players. Also he distributed cash rewards to the winners of the Run for SAIL marathon held on January 24 in the category of up to Class VI.
The winners were Sai Kumar Razak (Boys) and Tisha (girls) who were awarded Rs 3000/- and for men and women category Rang Bahadur Patel and Tejaswini Sah were given away cash reward of Rs 5000/- each. Thereafter the chief guest released balloons and declared the camp as closed.
Name of the sports and grounds where the camps would be conducted include: Athletics at Jayanti Stadium and ITI Ground Khurshipar; Badminton at -Indoor Stadium, Sector-10; Bal Badminton at- Bal Badminton Ground, Sector-4; Basketball-Pant Stadium, Sector-1; Boxing- Ispat Club, Sector- 2; Ispat Club Sector-8, near Indoor Hall Civic Centre and also at Ispat Club, Sector-01; Chess- Girls Higher Secondary School, Sector-5; Cricket- Sector-1 Ispat Club and BSP Cricket Ground, Indira Place; Football- Pant Stadium, Hospital Sector; Handball- EMMS Sector-10 and Handball Stadium, Sector-4; Hockey-Jayanti Stadium; Karate- Ispat Club Sector-5, Ispat Club Maroda and Ispat Club Sector-01; Judo- Judo Hall, Sector-4; Lawn Tennis- Pant Stadium, BSP Tennis Complex, Civic Centre; Table Tennis- Indoor Stadium and Ispat Club- Khursipar; Volleyball- Pant Stadium and Ispat Club, Khursipar, Girls Higher Secondary School, Sector-5 and also in Hudco; Yoga- Senior Secondary School No-2 Sector-6; Kho-kho- Sector-4 Sports Complex, Khursipar; Kabaddi- Pant Stadium, Khursipar; Power lifting- Power Gym, Sector-6; Cycle Polo- SSS, Sector-7; Gymnastics- Ispat Club, Sector-6 and Fencing- SSS, Sector-4.
