BSF celebrates Yoga Day with enthusiasm

Bhilai, Jun 23: The officers and jawans of Border Security Force celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm. Following the Covid protocol, programmes were organised at Frontier Headquarters, Inspector General (Special Operations), Chhattisgarh, Bhilai, Regional Headquarters, all the Battalions and Company Operated Bases (COBs).
Under the guidance and directions of SK Tyagi (IG, Frontier Headquarters, Special Operations, Chhattisgarh), the BSF men practiced of yoga asanas as per the IYD protocol. The jawans were informed about the importance of yoga in the modern times.
They were appraised about the benefits of Yoga which will be helpful for them to deliver duties efficiently in adverse situations.
Yoga keeps the body and mind focused and calm. This event made an encouraging impact on the Border Security Force members deployed not only in Bhilai but in the Naxal affected areas of Chhattisgarh.
Yoga session began with chanting of mantra, followed by exercises of neck, leg and waist; Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Padahastasana, Ardhachakrasana, Trikonasana, Bhadrasana, Vajrasana, Ardha Ustrasana, Vakrasana, Bhujangasan, Makarasana, Setubandhasana, Pawanmuktasana, Kapalbhati and Anulomvilam Pranayama. All the personnel practiced meditation postures like asana, pranayama mudra etc and finally recited the Shanti Path. IG (BSF) and other officers, subordinate officers and jawans participated in the event.
Yoga Day celebration was also held at Durg Sector Headquarters of Border Security Force. The jawans pledged to include yoga in their daily routine. Yoga Session was conducted by Dr Shailja Chandrakar and Harjit Singh Sahota of Art of Living Institute.
DIG (BSF) SS Dabas said that Yoga is very useful for human life. He added that all the BSF officers and jawans should practice Yoga and Pranayama and follow the Covid appropriate behaviour to stay healthy and fit during the difficult times.
They must inspire others to do the same. DIG urged the force members to make yoga an integral part of their lives. Anant Singh, Commandant Sector Headquarters, and other officers and jawans practiced yoga.
