Brahmastra is made on Whopping Budget, Nagarjuna Joins

Nagarjuna, who has appeared in films like Angaarey and Criminal is all set to make a comeback in Bollywood with Ayan Mukerji’s superhero fantasy drama Brahmastra.

The 48-year old actor will join acting stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Mouni Roy for this mega project. Nagarjuna will join the cast from today.

As per a source quoted, “Nagarjuna wanted to do a Hindi film from a long time, but was looking for an interesting project. He finally gave his nod to this one. He will join the Hindi film’s sets from Tuesday onwards in Mumbai.”

Nagarjuna, who made his Bollywood debut with Ram Gopal Varma’s Shiva in 1990, was last seen in JP Dutta’s LOC Kargil, which was released 15 years back. Well, by Nagarjuna adding to the cast, we must say our expectations from the film has gone a notch higher.

Talking about Brahmastra, the film marks the third collaboration between Ranbir and Ayan after Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Interestingly, all three films are produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions.

The first part of the trilogy is reportedly made on the whopping budget of Rs 100 crore. Explaining the film, Ayan earlier had said, “This film is a modern day film.

It is set in India as it exists today but the name of the film is Brahmastra because the energy, wisdom and powers in the film come from ancient India. As far as costumes are concerned, there are some which may not be the way you would expect them to be.” It is set to hit the screens on August 15, 2019.
