Bootlegger arrested

Bhilai, May 24: Police have arrested a bootlegger and have recovered 30 quarters of illicit liquor from his possession. The accused was carrying the liquor on a scooter and was visiting various localities for selling the same. Khursipar Police received a tip off regarding this person after which he was arrested from Zone 3 area.
The accused was identified as Shankar Manjhi a resident of Zone 3, Khursipar. 30 quarters of Goa Special Whiskey and Country Liquor worth Rs 3030; Rs 1270 cash and a scooty bearing registration number CG07-BH-0349 were seized from his possession. He has been booked under the provisions mentioned in section 34 (2) of Excise Act.
