BJP wants to gain political ground through communal hatred: Choubey

Raipur, Oct 09: Congress leader and Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources Ravindra Choubey on Saturday termed the recent Kawardha violence to be a conspiracy of opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Addressing a press conference here, the Cabinet Minister Choubey claimed that the opposition BJP is in search to gain the lost political ground through communal atmosphere. He further said that the people involved in the Kawardha violence have been identified and added that action would be taken against those involved in the communal violence on the basis of the evidence. He alleged that the BJP workers had resorted to open violence against a particular community over a dispute over religious flag. Choubey said that the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has directed the administration to take stern action against those involved in the violence.
Replying to question, the Cabinet Minister and Kawardha MLA Md Akbar said that he has been in regular dialogue with the administration but had not visited the constituency as curfew has been clamped in the region following the violence and added that he would be visiting his constituency soon.
Minister for School Education Dr Prem Sai Singh Tekam and other senior leaders of Congress were also present during the press conference.
