BJP MLAs staged protest in Circuit House, raise slogans

Kawardha, Oct 06:
When the delegation of BJP MLAs reached Kawardha, they were not allowed to go and meet any of the affected families and were made to stay in the rest house itself. Annoyed over the same, BJP MLAs and local BJP leaders staged sit-in at the rest house itself. It is notable here that amidst tension prevailing in Kawardha city, curfew has been imposed and due to some controversy over hoisting of flag, massive damage has been caused to public property and in the lathicharge done many persons have got injured. So it is in order to take stock of situation arising out of this controversy and incident, a delegation of BJP MLAs reached Kawardha on Wednesday morning.
The delegation comprised of Leader of Opposition in VS Dharamlal Kaushik, former Minister and MLA Brijmohan Agrawal, Dr Krishnamurty Bandhi and Narayan Chandel. On their reaching Kawardha, they were all asked to stay in the Circuit House and through a letter were informed that section 144 is in effect in Kawardha to handle law & order situation and in such conditions the application of the delegation to meet the family members of affected families is not allowed to ensure peace and law & order in city. So annoyed over not being allowed to go and meet affected family members of the riots, BJP delegation along with local BJP leaders staged dharna in the circuit house premises and raised slogans in protest.
Kaushik informed that NET services in Kawardha are down and therefore they are unable to get in touch with anyone to know about the latest information. He charged that this is sheer high-handedness on part of the local administration and state government and the government should be ready to bear its outcome.
They all have come to know about the conditions of the persons injured in the riots and despite this they all have not being allowed to meet anyone, he alleged.
