BJP holds demo against Congress govt over toolkit FIR

Raipur, May 22: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday added fuel to the fire over the controversial toolkit issue as Chhattisgarh-level demonstration was held to protest against the FIR registered against former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh for sharing the tweet of BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra.
A five-member team of senior BJP leaders staged demonstration outside the Civil Lines Police Station here challenging the administration to arrest them also as the Police has already issued notice to Dr Raman Singh over sharing the controversial toolkit.
According to information received, BJP spokespersons Rajesh Munat and Sanjay Shrivastava, State BJP Vice President Motilal Sahu and Raipur City BJP President Shrichand Sundrani started the foot march from the residence of Raipur South MLA Brijmohan Agrawal who was leading the demonstration. All the five senior leaders reached Civil Lines Police Station urging their arrest on the issue. BJP leaders raised slogans against the Congress government alleging political patronage in registering case against Dr Raman Singh on the issue. Speaking on the occasion, the BJP MLA Brijmohan Agrawal said that thousands of party workers including him have also retweeted the controversial toolkit share of Sambit Patra and he should also be arrested for the offence.
BJP Spokesperson Rajesh Munat said that they should also be arrested or the police administration should withdraw the FIR registered against Dr Raman Singh on the issue.
BJP leader Sajay Shrivastava said that lakhs of BJP workers are ready to give their arrest.
Similar demonstration were also held in all the five Divisional Headquarters as well as District headquarters. Former Minister and Kurud MLA Ajay Chandrakar and Dhamtari MLA Ranjana Sahu too joined the demonstration at Dhamtari against the Congress government.
BJP has gone aggressive against the Bhupesh Baghel government after a FIR was registered against Dr Raman Singh on the complaint filed by Congress leaders in the city. Meanwhile, the BJP workers would now extend the above agitation and would now stage dharna outside every Police Station in Raipur District to further create pressure on administration.
