As part of the exercise to officially provide fresh membership to the senior party leaders, the visiting
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday evening visited the residence of former Rajya Sabha MP Shree Gopal Vyas in Krishi Nagar-based Vidhayak Colony to hand over him the membership of the party.
Other dignitaries present included Deputy CMs Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, former Governor Ramesh Bais, MLAs Kiran Singh Deo and Ishwar Sahu and former Assembly Speaker Gaurishankar Agarwal.
During the visit, Union Health Minister and BJP National President JP Nadda renewed Shree Gopal Vyas’s membership to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The visit aimed to inquire about Vyas’s health and show respect for his contributions to the party and society.
Shree Gopal Vyas, a dedicated RSS worker since 1945, was imprisoned in Raipur Jail from 1975-1977 as a MISA detainee.
Earlier, the BJP President Nadda offered floral tributes to Rani Durgawati at the statue here. Arrival nearly two hours late from the scheduled visit, the BJP President JP Nadda was accorded warm welcome by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at Raipur Airport.
