BJP alleges irregularities in central fund for Smart City project

Raipur, Feb 06: Pointing fingers towards lack of development in Naya Raipur during the last two years, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday said that the Congress government not even has fund for the maintenance of the various buildings.
Addressing a press conference at party office here, the State BJP Spokesperson Rajesh Munat said that Congress government should clear the intention over the priority as it has not released fund for the maintenance of Mantralaya building but is making huge expenditure on establishing concrete jungle.
He further stated that the BJP delegation would raise demand from the visiting Union Minister of Housing and Urban Development Hardeep Puri to conduct investigation into alleged irregularities in various works being carried out from central fund. He said that Centre had sanctioned the amount of Rs 800 crore to Chhattisgarh Government under Smart City development whereas only Rs 237 crore have been spend by government. He said that Smart Road had to be construction with the fund of Rs 400 from Centre but no efforts have been made towards it. He also questioned the unnecessary expenditure on Musical Fountain at Budhatalab Garden. He said that BJP would inform Union Minister Puri about the irregularities and misuse of central fund provided for Smart city.
