BJP alleges change to post of AG as unconstitutional

Raipur: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday brought the censure motion against the state government on the issue of ouster of senior Advocate Kanak Tiwari from the post of Advocate General and subsequent posting of lawyer Satish Chandra Verma as new AG seeking violation of Constitution. BJP Legislator Ajay Chandrakar raised the issue during Zero Hour in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly here.

BJP Legislator termed the entire episode of change to the post of AG as against the Constitution. BJP Legislator Shivratan Sharma too joined him seeking opinion from the Treasury bench. However, the Minister for Law and Legal Works Md Akbar termed the issue to be not a matter of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly.

BJP Legislators started raising slogans against the statement of Minister and created pandemonium which eventually stalled the proceedings of Legislative Assembly. Amidst uproar, the Assembly Speaker adjourned the proceedings for 10 minutes.
