Raipur: A biker was robbed at knife-point by three unidentified robbers near Chachanpairi late on Wednesday night after being stopped initially by one for a lift to nearby village. The incident was later reported in Sejbahar police station following which police have registered a robbery offence and when reports last came in on Friday night, police have detained three suspects in connection to the robbery.
According to police, complainant Parasmani Sahu of village Tokaro under Abhanpur police station area was returning back to his village riding his bike on Wednesday after completing his work in capital Raipur. However, at about 10:15 p.m. while he was passing through a brick kiln on the outskirts of village Chachanpairi, one person stopped him on pretext taking lift to the next village. Not suspecting the stranger, Parasmani stopped his bike to give him lift.
However, the moment he stopped the bike, two more persons appeared from the darkness and one of them straightway placed a knife on his throat after which the other two snatched cash Rs 2300 and a mobile phone, all totalling to Rs 6300 and fled from there. Parasmani reached Sejbahar police station on Thursday morning and lodged a complaint with regards to the robbery along with giving police a broad sketch of the three robbers and a name used by them while committing the robbery.
Police, after registering an offence under Section 392 IPC against the three unidentified robbers, launched a hunt to nab them on the basis of clues provided the victim and late on Friday afternoon, succeeded in nabbing three suspects who are now being interrogated further. Sources informed that the three suspects detained are Govind Dhruv, Komal Dhruv and Om Yadav of village Chachanpairi and they only had committed the robbery. However, police have not made an official confirmation in this regard as they are yet to recover the knife used in the crime as well as the robbed mobile phone which the trio had sold at a shop which was found closed on Friday.
