Bhupesh govt stands by farmers: District Congress

Raipur, Mar 22: Admiring Bhupesh Government’s Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana the District Congress City President Girish Dubey and Rural President Udhoram Verma said that Bhupesh Government stood by lakhs of farmers in the state by fulfilling all its promises to them. They alleged that central government’s anti-farmer attitude had been exposed and that the BJP in the state must stop pretending to be well wisher of farmers.
Talking to the media here today Dubey and Verma said that state government transferred 4th installment to the accounts of farmers at a time when they were in the need for this amount. Bhupesh Government does what it says, they said.
On one hand farmers across the country are on strike for the last several months in support of the demand for MSP on the other the Chhattisgarh government has set a record by procuring 91.5 lakh ton paddy on support price from 21.5 lakh farmers in the state, they said.
They attacked the central government led by BJP saying that it was creating hurdles before disbursement of this amount to the farmers after creating trouble for the farmers on gunny bags and paddy lifting. District Congress President said that central government and its minister Piyush Goyal tried to block release of fund from the centre for farmers by calling Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana as bonus. Congress leaders said that BJP leaders in Chhattisgarh were also trying to mislead the farmers. They further said that people in Chhattisgarh understood double standard policy of BJP.
