Bhupesh Govt embezzled rice meant for distribution among poor: Shivratan

Raipur, Oct 02: Charging Bhupesh Government with embezzling rice meant for the poor, the BJP State Vice President Shivratan Sharma said that Modi Government at the centre was giving 5 kg rice to every poor family per month but in Chhattisgarh the poor were not getting it. Addressing a meeting of senior workers and office bearers in Shakti Kendra of BJP Raipur West Assembly Constituency Sharma alleged that Congress Government was involved in corruption as it was unable to give account of distribution of rice. Congress government in the state stopped to such a low that it embezzled rice meant for distribution to the poor, he alleged and said that entire state was getting entangled in debts and development works in entire state came to standstill.
Taking potshot at Congress over infighting brewing within the party Sharma said that people of Chhattisgarh were at the receiving end of infighting within Congress. He said that no fund was available for development works in the state. So much so that corporators were not getting fund in the firm of development fee for carrying out development works, he said.
Now several Congress MLAs started saying that it had become difficult for them to visit their constituencies in absence of development works, Sharma said, adding that BJP cannot remain silent spectator when demands for development works are raised.
He asserted that Modi Government would seek account of rice meant for distribution among the poor. He said that BJP workers would continue to expose Congress government before the people of the state. He further said that BJP workers would soon begin dharna to ensure availability of rice, given by the Modi Government for the poor.
Addressing the meeting BJP State Spokesman Rajesh Munat said that every worker of BJP was carrying out task with utmost seriousness.
The party has planned to form committee of 25 workers in every booth. All the workers in the party are energetic, he said. He called upon the party workers to honestly work to achieve goal and pave way for party’s success.
BJP district president Srichand Sunderani also spoke on the occasion.
The meeting was also attended by Channi Verma, Goverdhan Khandelwal, Dr Salim Raj, district general secretary Onkar Bais and Satyam Dua.
