Review of updated status of English medium schools in the state

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel directed the state government to ensure better system of teaching and learning in the schools approved by the state government for the purpose of providing school education to children through English medium. The Chief Minister said that along with improving the infrastructure of these schools, special attention should be paid to the children to get high quality education here.
Instructions were also given to ensure the provision of DMF for the construction of necessary infrastructure in English medium schools. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was reviewing the updated status of the system of schools approved and operated by the Education Department in his residence office. School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Advisor to the Chief Minister, Mr. Rajesh Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr. Subrat Sahoo, Principal Secretary School Education Dr. Alok Shukla, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi, Director Public Education Mr. Jitendra Shukla, Deputy Secretary Ms. Soumya Cherasia and other senior officers were present. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed happiness over the trends received by the Chhattisgarh government for admission of children in government English medium schools approved and operated in the district headquarters of the state and said that foster approach has been started for admission in these schools.
He said that in any case, the quality of education in government English medium schools should not be less than that of private English medium schools. This will be the criterion on its success. He said that in the initial phase our intention was to start a government English Medium School in each district headquarters, which later increased to 40.
Due to the demand of parents and children and the enthusiasm of the local administration, this number has now increased to 51. The Chief Minister said that it is the intention of the government to start the Government English Medium School in all the block headquarters of the state from the upcoming education session. He instructed the Education Department officials to ensure the system of teaching and learning in 51 schools, as well as parallel planning for 146 English Medium Schools starting in the block headquarters from the next academic session. The Chief Minister said that special attention should be paid to the appointment and training of principals and teachers of English medium schools.
At the beginning of the meeting, Principal Secretary of School Education Department, Dr. Alok Shukla gave detailed information regarding its detailed plan, deputation of principals and recruitment of teachers through the powerpoint presentation, including infrastructure development works in government English medium schools.
