Beneficiaries of pension schemes getting regular pension: Anila Bhedia

Raipur: Minister for Social Welfare Anila Bhedia today said in Vidhan Sabha that beneficiaries of all pension schemes being run under social assistance programme were regularly being paid pension amount every month in Korba district. She was replying to call attention notice of BJP MLA Nankiram Kanwar in Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha on Thursday.

The Minister Bhedia dismissed allegation that social welfare department in Korba district was not regularly paying old age pension, widow pension, destitute pension and disability pension. Kanwar said that he had staged dharna in front of Korba Collectorate and subsequently the Korba Collector had partially facilitated distribution of pension.

However, after next few months the pension distribution was stopped, he said. Kanwar said that he had received a complaint about deletion of names of several beneficiaries who were earlier getting pension, from the list. This action has led to widespread resentment among pensioners, he added. In reply Minister Anila Bhedia said that beneficiaries who had not got pension amount on their accounts due to technical reasons were given pension through camps.

She also dismissed allegation of deletion of the names of several beneficiaries who were earlier getting pension, from the list of pensioners.
