Bhilai, Jul 03: From now on be ready to pay fine if you have been negligent in keeping the surroundings clean which in turn could prove to be favourable for mosquitoes to breed. Inorder to prevent dengue from spreading its tentacles, the Bhilai Municipal Corporation administration under its Dengue Control Campaign has come up with the idea of charging fine at office, shops, hospitals and homes if mosquito larva is found in the places due to stagnant water.
This decision has been taken after taking measures to control the same through announcements, various cleanliness drives for making people aware. The process of checking and imposing fine is already going on in the houses and shops where water logging has been the cause of breeding ground for the mosquitoes. Here it needs a mention that water logging during the rainy season becomes a favourable breeding place for mosquito. Furthermore, dengue spreading mosquitoes breed in clean water instead of dirty water. Therefore, it is necessary to periodically check the coolers of the house, old utensils and tires kept on the roof or water stagnating at the shops and offices.
To prevent dengue, the health department of the corporation has launched a campaign ” Har Ravivar Dengue par war”. On this day citizens will be made to clean the surroundings of the house and also the water filled in the containers will be made to change. Even after this if there is negligence, Municipal Commissioner Rituraj Raghuvanshi has given instructions to impose fine.
Administrative strictness is necessary to deal with infectious diseases like dengue, malaria, and filariasis. To prevent the vector-borne disease dengue, the employees of the corporation are going door-to-door, testing the cooler water, spraying Temephos. They are also making people aware to prevent diseases like dengue or malaria caused by mosquito bites.
Corporation’s Deputy Commissioner Ashok Dwivedi has ordered all the zone commissioners to issue letters to all the government and private hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, commercial establishments and especially tyre shops in the zone area to take steps to prevent accumulation of water anywhere in their establishment as it could lead to the possibility of mosquito breeding.
It is in the rainy season that the larvae are produced and diseases like dengue malaria occur, so it is necessary to be careful. If mosquito larvae are found during investigation in the establishments by the team constituted by the corporation, action should be taken against the concerned establishment.
During the drive in Khursipar area, the team of the corporation which was reaching door to door under dengue control campaign, around 14 were fined for spreading dirt, stagnation of water for a long time, keeping old utensils or junk open where mosquito larvae are likely to be originated.
Senior Sanitary Inspector KK Singh said that the team took action in Chhawni, Bapunagar, Gautam Nagar, New Khursipar under Zone 04 Khursipar area, in which Rs 200 each was fined from Ramdhari Yadav, from Teras Yadav, from Raj Bahadur Yadav, from Chhabilal Yadav, Chandrika Prasad, from Vachan Harpal, and Rs 500 from Anwar Mohammad, Rs 100 from Jasbir Singh, Rs 100 from Jogeshwar Rao, Rs 150 from Jogendra Prasad, Rs 200 from Baldev Kaur, Rs 200 from Hariram, Rs 100 from Vishnu Prasad.
