Balco Medical Centre bags first prize

Naya Raipur, Dec 16:
Celebrating Universal Health Coverage Day on the theme “Leave No One’s Health Behind: Invest in Health System for All”, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare of India awarded first prize to Balco Medical Centre at Hotel Ashok, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. Balco Medical Centre, a premier cancer hospital, was awarded for its Antimicrobial, Infection control and diagnostic (AID) stewardship model. Honourable Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare of India, Dr.Bharati Pravin Pawar, presented the award to Dr.Manisa Sahu, Head of Lab Services & S. Venkata Kumar, CEO, who spearheaded the implementation of AID model at Balco Medical Centre.
On the occasion of Universal Health Coverage Day, National Health Authority recognised the best practices being implemented by various hospitals empanelled under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan ArogyaYojana (AB PM-JAY) across India.
S. Venkata Kumar, CEO of Balco Medical Centre said, “It is a great honour for our institution to receive this prestigious award from National Health Authority& AB PM-JAY. Adoption and adherence to best infection control practices have contributed positively towards patients outcomes at our centre. We’re obliged to the State Government for their robust support, only due to which we have been able to provide quality cancer care to the underprivileged communities by implementing best healthcare practices.”
