‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ an opportunity to remember freedom fighters: Vijay Baghel

Bhilai, Sep 18: Under the joint aegis of Nehru Yuva Kendra and National Service Scheme, Durg (Chhattisgarh) the Fit India Freedom-Run under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” was organised to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence on Saturday.
Freedom Run 2.0 was organized from Sardar Patel Square to Rajendra Park Square, Durg. More than 400 volunteers and members of Yuva Mandals participated in the district level freedom run program.
Chief guest of the event Vijay Baghel, MP, Durg Lok Sabha constituency, in his address said that “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” is an opportunity to remember and pay tribute to the glorious history of the freedom fighters. He said that participation in this Freedom-Run would be a true tribute to them. He also encouraged all the participants to stay fit. After this Baghel administered the oath of Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 to all the participants.
At the outset, Durg District Youth Officer Nitin Kumar Sharma gave an outline on the objective of the program, followed by lighting of the lamp and welcome of the chief guest and all the special guests.
National Vice President of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, New Delhi, Dinesh Pratap Singh called upon the youth to convert the importance of freedom and Fit India program into a mass movement with public participation.
In the said program, T-shirts, caps and masks were made available to all the participants through Nehru Yuva Kendra, Durg. The youth ran around 100 meters with the national flag. In the presence of Dr Bhuvnesh Jain, Regional Director, West Zone of Nehru Yuva Kendra, NYKS, Chhattisgarh, State Director Shrikant Pandey and Program Coordinator of National Service Scheme RP Agrawal the program concluded at Rajendra Park Square Durg. At the end the vote of thanks was proposed by Prof Vinay Sharma.
