An awareness class on Menstrual Hygiene Day was organized by Department of O&G in conference hall of JLNH & RC. This was conducted under the leadership & guidance of Dr SK Issar, DMHS I/c, Dr A Shrivastav Director (M&HS), Dr G Malini Director (M&HS), Dr Sunita Agrawal Joint Director (O&G) & I/c RCH.
Dr Sunita Agrawal, Joint Director welcomed the audience & elaborated on the aim behind organizing this awareness class. Aim was to spread awareness and train the sanitary workers, nursing students, nursing sisters and DNB students and consultants of JLN Hospital & research centre regarding the safe & hygienic practice during menstruation.
Dr G Malini Director (M&HS) was the chief guest of the occasion. She unveiled the menstrual hygiene poster and released the educative pamphlets of menstrual hygiene printed both in Hindi and English language. She addressed the audience regarding the importance of health education and unrestricted discussion regarding safe practice during menstruation. Dr Sunita Agrawal elaborated about the various myths concerned to menstruation & stressed on the importance about the use of sanitary pad or tampon during menstruation. She also told about the risk of infection that may be acquired in unsafe practice.
Family planning department staffs actively participated for the successful execution of the programme. Dr Roshan Hussain, Dr Neena Guha, Dr Arun Kumar Dora, Dr Suman Kumar & Dr Prabdeep were present on the occasion.
Educative videos were also played at the end of session. About 100 sanitary workers, nursing students, nursing sisters and DNB students and consultants of JLN Hospital & Research centre attended the awareness class.
