Auto Expo kicks off; Toyota unveils Yarris

Raipur, Mar 16: Central India’s flagship automobile show, the Auto Expo 2018, kicked off on Friday as new products made their debut with Bollywood celebrity Karishma Tanna adding to the glamour quotient. Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh inaugurated the Auto Expo 2018 at Government Science College Ground by lighting the traditional lamp and launched the new model Toyota Yarris.
Addressing the function Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that RADA’s contribution in development of Chhattisgarh and make the state economy strong is appreciable. The road infrastructure has been improved in the state with connectivity even to remote areas like Sukuma. As economy growth of the accelerates faster the automobile sector will witness tremendous growth, said Dr Raman Singh. He extended the greetings to RADA members for organising the sixth edition of Auto Expo 2018. It is a matter of proud that Auto Expo 2018 is not restricted to Central India but has got its identity on national level. Chhattisgarh is now among the leading state as economy is growing. The infrastructure was poor in 2000 when Chhattisgarh state came into existence and after facing challenges we move ahead and today the state has made remarkable achievements in economy with the contributions from all.
On the occasion State Minister for Public Works Department and Transport Rajesh Munat, Forest Minister Mahesh Gagda, FADA President John K Pal, CAIT National Vice President Amar Parwani, IFFCO Tokio General Insurance Director HO Suri. The four-day event will showcase new models and cultural events daily. Large number of visitors viewed the Auto Expo 2018 on the inaugural day. The cultural and entertainment programme presented made the audience spell bound. In the welcome speech Manish Raj Singhania, President, Raipur Automobile Dealers Association said that Chhattisgarh Automobile Market business has touched Rs 1000 crore per month with sale of about 3300 cars, 40,000 two wheelers and 4500 truck, tractors and other vehicles as a result state government gets huge revenue from this sector.
The Auto Expo is set to get bigger and bolder this time, with large number of model launches and branded used car dealers also participating in the event, he said. Chhattisgarh Automobile sector founder Santosh Agrawal (Sky Automobile and Chaturbhuj Agrawal (Vandana Auto) got the Life Time Achievement Award. Another major attraction of expo was display of Ford Mustang costing Rs 85 lakh. In addition to this Honda X Blade and Yamaha R15V3 was also launched at the expo on day 1.
