Assets worth over Rs 5 crore unearthed in EOW raids on ADG GP Singh

Raipur, Jul 03: Preliminary investigations made into the two-day long raids conducted by Economic Offence Wing (EOW) in various premises of ADG GP Singh (IPS) have reportedly unveiled assets worth over Rs 5 crore.
According to information made available by EOW late on Friday night, documents showing investment in over 75 life insurance policies bought in name of GP Singh, his wife and son had been recovered so far into which premium worth lakhs of rupees have been deposited. Large number of FUF accounts have also been recovered investment into which is still be calculated.
Several accounts in various banks and several post branches have also been recovered.
In preliminary scrutiny, huge investments had been detected in over 35 share and mutual fund transactions.
Till now, an investment into these funds has been calculated to over Rs 1.50 crore. Similarly, several fixed deposits in various schemes of post office have been unearthed.
In the preliminary scrutiny of other seized documents, EOW have unearthed several heavy vehicles worth Rs 75 lakh and registered in name of his relatives. Simultaneously, ownership documents of several plots and flats have also been recovered in Chhattisgarh and other states.
Another startling revelation has been transfer of amount worth over Rs 1 crore into bank accounts of his relatives and the payment has been transferred by multinational companies.
EOW is still carrying investigation into the case and many more startling revelations are expected to come forth.
