Anti-incumbency factor has become yardstick for ticket aspirations from both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as well as the principal opposition Congress party to stake claim for the opportunity to them in the forthcoming Legislative Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh. While the scenario has created headache as well as embarrassment for the sitting MLAs, the seasoned leaders as well as young enthusiasts have already moved several steps to claim their candidature for the ticket in the upcoming elections. Dominance of social media has given the young aspirations from Congress a strong platform to impress the party high command. But in the process, the seasoned campaigners who have their mentor staying at central capital, have to get frustrated as the caste equations on which he had been banking heavily for the party ticket from Raipur North constituency, has boomeranged as one of the popular face too hails from the same community.
It is learnt that the senior campaigner from the opposition Congress party has lost his political ground for ticket in absence of adequate reasons to enter the electoral fray. However, he has also created headache for the former MLA from the constituency as several complaints have been filed against the former MLA who lost the last elections with a slender margin. More or less scenario is also similar in the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party as not only the sitting MLA is losing confidence of high command but the seniors too have lost grounds in favour of young enthusiasts for party ticket from the constituency.
