Raipur, Oct 28: Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) state president Amit Jogi has questioned the way of conduct of election supervisor Jai Singh of Marwahi Assembly. Amit Jogi has written a complaint to the Chief Election Commissioner, New Delhi on Tuesday. Amit has said that the conduct of election supervisor Jai Singh appointed by the election commission is not only doubtful but also contrary to all the provisions of the Constitution and the law.
For the first time in the history of the Election Commission, on Mr Jai Singh’s instruction a party recognized under the Representation of the People Act is being prevented from participating in the election campaign for the mere reason that the nomination of its candidates was cancelled in closed room, without giving an opportunity to be heard. Amit Jogi has said that nowhere in the Constitution and law of India is it written that to campaign for political parties it is it is mandatory to be its candidate. But on behalf of Jai Singh, while disregarding all the provisions of the Representation of People Act, the party leaders and MLAs of JCC were told that the publicity (Nyay Yatra) organised by the party in Marwahi elections is in the category of organised crime.
It is clear that either the Election Supervisor Jai Singh is not aware of the above Act, Election related rules and principles of the constitution or he is directly speaking the language of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s Congress government under their influence. In the eyes of Marwahi voters, there is no difference in way of conduct between the Chhattisgarh government minister and the election in-charge of the Congress, Jai Singh Agarwal and the election observer Jai Singh appointed by the Election Commissioner. Amit Jogi has requested the Chief Election Commissioner to take immediate notice of this very serious matter and please give proper instructions to Election Observer Jai Singh. It has become impossible to conduct a fair election in Marwahi in the presence of Mr Jai Singh, alleged Mr Amit Jogi.
