Raipur, Sep 30: Various cities of the state are being linked with flight service under the director of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Recently the Jagdalpur-Raipur to Hyderabad flight service was launched. Now the process to start flight service from Raipur, Ambikapur to Banaras has been started. In this concern State Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat has written letter to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and urged to start the Raipur, Ambikapur and Banaras flight service. Minister Bhagat said that northern part of Chhattisgarh – Sarguja has immense possibilities from geographical point of view but is still lacking air service facilities. The 1500 meter Darima Airport located at Ambikapur fulfill all the requirements. He added that for development of medical, education, culture and tourism in northern region of the state, flight service is the need of the hour. Minister Bhagat has expressed his regards towards Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for launching the Jagdalpur-Raipur to Hyderabad flight. He said that with launch of flight in southern region of the state there will be tremendous development in the field of medical, education, culture and tourism.
It is notable that Minister Amarjeet Bhagat was making constant efforts to upgrade the Darima Airport at Ambikapur. In this concern Bhagat has written letter to Union Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. He urged the Union Aviation Minister to include Ambikapur (Darima) Airport in Category 3-C. In reply to the letter, Union Aviation Minister said that state government is developing Ambikapur airport and Airport Authority of India is extending all technical cooperation. Chhattisgarh Govt has given the approval to develop Ambikapur Airport in 3-C category.
