Alert in Ch’garh over delta plus variant of Coronavirus

Raipur, Jun 24: An alert has been sounded in Chhattisgarh over the delta Plus variant of Coronavirus. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has instructed to keep a close watch on the movement through the borders with Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. This new variant of Corona has been found in both these neighboring states.
Chhattisgarh government has become alert over delta plus variant of Coronavirus after cases of this variant were found in neighbouring states like Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. According to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel the state has to be alert considering growing cases of delta plus variant of Coronavirus in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. He instructed to keep a close watch on inter-state borders considering presence of this new variant in both the neighbouring states. The Chief Minister has appealed to the people to be cautious while following COVID-19 appropriate behaviour and wear masks, use hand sanitiser and follow social distancing to protect themselves from COVID infection. Delta plus variant of Coronavirus spreads more rapidly than other variants.
Officials said that in a bid to detect delta plus variant in new COVID cases being reported in the state, the samples are being sent from virology labs of Raipur AIIMS and Raipur Medical College to AIIMS Bhubaneshwar and National Virology Lab Pune. According to them no case of COVID delta plus variant has been detected in the state yet.
