Akbar felicitates 154 winners of Forest Department

Raipur, Sep 26: Forest and Climate Change Minister Mohammad Akbar felicitated the winners of 25th All India Forest Sports Competition by distributing money at his residence office at Shankar Nagar in Raipur. During this, he distributed a prize money of Rs 34.66 lakh to the winning 154 players of Chhattisgarh Forest Department in the competition. Forest Minister Akbar also announced increase in honorarium of all the winning players in the program to boost their morale and encourage them.
The Forest Minister, Akbar while encouraging the players of the Forest Department said that sports have an important place in life. Sportsmanship develops in the person through sports, which are helpful for us to achieve success in various fields. He said that we are all proud of the achievements of the Forest Department in Chhattisgarh in various fields. He said that the Forest Department has recently been awarded with 11 National Awards for remarkable progress in various departments including departmental works. Similarly, in the field of sports, the Forest Department of Chhattisgarh has so far received the National Champion award 11 times in the All India Forest Sports Competition. This is a very big and important achievement not only for the Forest Department but for the whole of Chhattisgarh.
It is noteworthy that the 25th All India Forest Sports Competition was organized in Bhubaneswar (Odisha) in March 2020. In this, 202 participants from the Forest Department of Chhattisgarh participated in sports including athletics, cricket, football, hockey, tennis, volley and basketball. Out of which 154 players won the fourth position including gold, silver and bronze and received a prize money of Rs.34 lakh 66 thousand.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Rakesh Chaturvedi received Rs.29 thousand and Sanjay Shukla received a prize money of Rs. 1 lakh. On this occasion, the winning participants in the said competition were the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Forest Force Chief Rakesh Chaturvedi, Managing Director, State Minor Forest Produce Association, Sanjay Shukla, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Sunil Mishra, Chief Conservator of Forest J.R. Nayak and Mrs. Shalini Raina, Mrs. Sanjita Gupta, Divisional Forest Officer Mr. Vishwesh Kumar and Mr. Alok Tiwari and other departmental officers and employees were present.
