
Bhilai, Oct 07: AICTE has taken various quality initiatives to promote technical education in the country which also includes enhanced impetus on development of the faculty teaching in the colleges across the country. The AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy is one initiative which has been conducting various Faculty Development Programmes for imparting and upgrading faculty knowledge in thrust and emerging areas.
Department of Mechanical Engineering, Christian College of Engineering & Technology, Bhilai has started an Online FDP under ATAL Scheme on Operations Management from October 5 to 9, 2020. Over all 42 such FDPs have started simultaneously and are being conducted by renowned institutions of India. A common online inaugural function was organised by AICTE which was presided over by AICTE Chairman, Prof Anil D Sahastrabudhe. CBSE Chairman, Manoj Ahuja, IAS, was the Chief Guest and AICTE Vice-Chairman, Prof MP Poonia, AICTE Member Secretary, Prof Rajive Kumar were the Guest of Honour. AICTE Chairman Prof Anil D Sahastrabudhe, in his inaugural session, enlightened the purpose of AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy that was basically started to train the engineering faculties. Initially due to some constraints only limited faculties were trained in offline mode but now in the online mode it become possible to train the faculties in manifold. CBSE Chairman, Manoj Ahuja, IAS, emphasised the necessities of collaboration between AICTE and CBSE which will be beneficial for CBSE teachers to upgrade and train them for advanced technologies such as Robotics, IoT, Blochchains, AI etc.
At start of the program, Dr Ravindra Kumar Soni, Director, AICTE welcomed all the dignitaries and participants. The Vice-Chancellors/directors/principals of AICTE ATAL FDP organising institutes have expressed their views and gratitude towards AICTE for permitting to conduct such nice and useful programs for development of their faculties. Dr CRS Kumar, has conducted the program and Dr Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Regional Officer & Asst Director, AICTE, proposed the vote of thanks.
The FDP organiser introduced all three distinguished experts on the first day namely Dr Rakesh L Himte, PIET, Nagpur, Dr Suraj Kumar Mukti, NIT, Raipur and Dr Jitesh J Thakkar, NRTI, Vadodara. They have delivered the talk on Operations Management: An Overview, Enterprise Resource Planning: Assurance of Growth of an Organisation and Lean Six Sigma respectively.
His Grace Dr Joseph Mar Dionysius, Chairman, Rev Fr George C Varughese, Executive Vice-Chairman and Dr Dipali Soren, Principal welcomed the online meeting and congratulated the organizer, Dr RH Gajghat, Associate Professor, for organising such wonderful FDP on the important topic and gave their best wishes to all the 141 registered participants which are faculties, industrialists and research scholars from all over the country.
