Raipur, Jul 22: In order to make true its tryst for making Raipur a ‘smart city’, state government has been working on several project. One such ambitious project of state government is ‘dial 112’ facility which will provide immediate assistance related to seven important services at the shortest possible response time by dialing a single number.
Sources have informed that Chief Minister might launch this ambitious and highly beneficial service on August 15. Reported to have incurred a sum of Rs 2000 crore for developing it, this project was supposed to be launched two years ago but repeated technical glitches held its launching so far.
The seven important departments whose services can be availed through ‘dial 112’ service are police department, fire brigade, Sanjeevani Ambulance, Mahatari Express, Child Helpline, Women Cell and Municipal. Citizens can also lodge their complaints, to and against, these seven departments through this service. As all these departments will be connected to this number, the complaint registered for any of the departments will be instantly transferred to that particular department for its immediate redressal. Sources have added that this facility will be available over mobile phones as well.
In first phase, ‘dial 112’ will be implemented in 11 districts
In the first phase of its launching, ‘dial 112’ facility will be available in 11 districts of the state and later will cover the remaining districts. The eleven districts where it will be launched in first phase are – Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, Janjgir-Champa, Raigarh, Korba, Dhamtari, Sarguja and Bastar.
Trial within a day or two
Sources have informed that trail of this highly ambitious project will get underway within a day or two. A total of fifty vehicles are reported to put in the field simultaneously to conduct dry run of the shortest possible response time to various complaints and everything goes as planned then ‘dial 112’ will definitely be launched on August 15.
