After 14 years CBSE holds exams in highly sensitive Naxal affected Jagargunda

With the opening of 2 new examination centres, the additional problems of the examinees were removed

Konta, Apr 09: As soon as the situation becomes normal in Jagargunda, a highly sensitive naxal-affected area of Sukma district, the Jagargunda examination center operated in Dornapal was re-established in Jagargunda to provide relief to the examinees by the efforts of the district administration. With the operation of the center in the village, the additional problems of the examinees of Jagargunda, Chintalnar were also reduced and they got ample time to prepare for the examination.
In the district, 16 examination centers were set up for the successful conduct of the CBSE examination. In the past years, Board exams were conducted in 14 centres. This year 2 new exam centers were added. There is excitement among the students of Chintalnar, Jagargunda due to the re-organization of CBSE’s board examination in Jagargunda. Expressing happiness for this, they expressed gratitude to CBSE administration.
After 14 years, the highly sensitive Naxal affected village Jagargunda got permission to hold the examination center again in Jagargunda. After the Salwa Judum campaign, the educational institutions of Jagargunda were operated in Dornapal. Candidates had to travel a distance of 56 km to Dornapal a month in advance to appear in the examination. Till the completion of the examination, alternate arrangements were made by the department for the stay of the examinees in the Ashram-hostel, whereas some children appeared in the examination by staying in rented house.
Along with this, some children were deprived of Board exams due to the distance of the examination center. In the academic session 2018-19, the ashram-schools were again operated from Dornapal to Jagargunda, but the examination center was operated at Dornapal only. Due to which the Class 10th, 12th students of Jagargunda, Chintalnar had to come to Dornapal to appear in the Board examination for 2 years. Now the students will no longer have to travel long distances due to the holding of the exams in examination center in Jagargunda itself.
District got 2 new examination centers:
District Education Officer Nitin Datsena said that this year the approval of 2 new examination centers was received from the government, including Murtonda of Sukma development block, Maraiguda (forest) of Konta development block. Along with this, the Jagargunda examination center operated in Dornapal has also been re-established in Jagargunda. In the past years, board exams were conducted from 14 examination centers. This year the examination was successfully conducted in 16 centres.
Forms sent by helicopter to Jagargunda examination center
For the students of Jagargunda to avoid any kind of disorder in the examination, the paper was delivered by the helicopter 4 days in advance by the government administration. Along with this, adequate arrangement was also ensured in the examination center. After the successful conduct of the examination under tight security, all the papers were brought to the district headquarters by helicopter.
