Aditi, Anurg to join tech-giant Microsoft

Raipur, Jul 18: Six years ago, the State Government of Chhattisgarh had set up IIIT Naya Raipur with a dream to create a technical institute that can be known among the premier institutes of the nation. From the consistent performance of the students of IIIT-NR, it seems that this vision and dream of the State Government is coming true. 100% placement for those who were interested in jobs for the third consecutive year for all B. Tech. students graduating this July, with many of them securing placement in reputed companies, is a testimony for this. The US-based tech-giant Microsoft offered a package of Rs. 43 lakhs per annum (LPA) to two students, which is the highest package this year. The average package this year is 10.5 LPA, which is an increase of nearly 25% from last year. Moreover, IIIT-NR students are being preferred for high-end jobs and cutting-edge technology areas such as R&D, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Image Processing, Embedded Systems Design, Quality Assurance, etc.
The analysis of placement results for this year indicates that IIIT-NR is fast emerging as a preferred institute for recruitment by top IT companies like Microsoft, Delloite, American Express, NasDaq, Nykka, etc. Microsoft Research (India) had selected Krutika Bapat and Divya Krishnani in their placement drive last year, and they came back again this year and selected Aditi Agrahari and Anurag Shukla. Similarly, Delloite had selected Aanshi Gupta, Abhishek Kumar and Shubham Yadav last year and this year they selected Punit Kunjam, Shubham Anand, Yash Khare, Vivek Kumar Singh, Vinayak Bhartiya, Rituraj Kushwaha, Ankush Jain, Himanshu Khairajani, Anshul Chaurasia and Saurabh Roy. American Express selected Palak Arora and Kaushik Majeti last year and they selected Sanchita Khare and Akella Vivek this year. Similar trend is seen in the recruitment drive of many other companies, which shows that the talent pool being created by IIIT-NR is very useful for latest industry requirements and the companies are motivated to revisit the institute batch-after-batch in search of talented professionals.
Through the performance of the students of the previous batches, the news that IIIT-NR creates quality professionals seems to have spread out in the industry. This was visible this year with the visit of several new companies looking out to recruit talent from IIIT-NR. Notable among these are Fintech-giant, Goldman Sachs, which selected Rajeev Nayan Choubey; Amazon, which selected Saanika Gupta; and Analog Devices, which selected Arnab Roy. Amazon is one of the FAANG (Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Google) companies, which many IT professionals aspire to work with. On the other hand, Analog Devices is one of the most prestigious semiconductor companies recruiting from India. Apart from these, many students have secured placement in other prestigious companies like CISCO, American Express, NasDaq, Nykaa, Carl Zeiss, Byju’s, etc.
Apart from this, like previous two batches, many students from this batch are also going abroad for higher studies, which re-affirms the fact that being a research-oriented institute, IIIT-NR encourages its students to pursue higher education and research.
Dr. Pradeep K. Sinha, Director, IIIT-NR, attributes the growth of the institute to its Board members, faculty, staff and students, as well as the support provided by the State Government, NTPC and their officials. Every member of the institute works hard towards a distinct culture of the institute, and the students are groomed in this culture right from day one for excellence in their professional career.
