Action of traffic police on autos without license and permit

Acting on the complaints about most of the auto drivers driving vehicles without licence and permit, the traffic police Raipur have launched a special drive against drivers of such passenger autos and e-rickshaws. Traffic police officers are checking the license and permit of the auto drivers in the major road intersections, under the drive. So far challan action has been taken against more than 337 auto drivers under the Motor Vehicles Act.
Special drive is also being run against some mischievous elements riding motorcycles by modifying the silencers with the sound of firecrackers in the vehicles. Motorcycles with sound of firecrackers in their silencers are causing fear in the general traffic besides raising possibility of accidents.
Under the drive such motorcycles are being intercepted at road intersections and challans are being issued against them. With action, the modified silencers are being replaced with original silencers in such motorcycles. Action has been taken against more than 23 such bullet vehicles with modified silencers during the last three days. Collector Dr Sarveshwar Bhure and SSP Prashant Kumar Agrawal have given instructions to take strict action against rule violators in a bid to maintain smooth and safe traffic system in the city.
